What is bacteriostatic water?
Sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol. The benzyl alcohol is a preservative that inhibits bacterial growth, which is what lets a single vial be entered more than once in a laboratory setting. Plain sterile water has no preservative and is single-use.
What's in a LABSOLUT vial?
Two things: water and 0.9% benzyl alcohol, sterile-filtered and filled into clear Type I borosilicate glass with a rubber stopper, aluminium crimp and royal-blue flip-off cap. Nothing else is added.
Is this for human or animal use?
No. LABSOLUT Bac Water is sold strictly for laboratory research use. It is not for human or veterinary use, and you must be 21 or older to buy it.
Do you provide preparation or mixing instructions?
No. We don't provide protocols, ratios or use instructions of any kind. Follow your laboratory's own procedures.
How should it be stored?
Unopened vials store at controlled room temperature (20–25 °C), away from direct light. Handling of opened vials should follow your lab's SOPs.
How do I check my lot?
Every vial belongs to a numbered lot. Enter it on our Lot lookup page to see that lot's certificate once it's published.
How fast do you ship?
Orders placed before 1 PM CT on a business day leave the same day from the US. Shipping is $6.95, and free on orders of $49 or more. We ship within the United States only.
How do I pay?
